Day time soaps addiction
Recently, I have developed a new addiction for day time soaps (namely, Days of our lives). I am deeply ashamed of myself. I mean, the acting is just terrible (what acting?), the make-up and hair is disgusting and the plot....umm...there is no plot, super predictable story line. I just couldn't stand it!! But the more I watched it, the more hooked I am. It's very disturbing. In fact, my husband got really worried and started to take actions against this pitiful habit of mine. He is making every effort to prevent me from watching the show. Now, I have an entire season of House, some Korean drama and many movies to pick from. Yay!!

Wonderful weekends
I love weekends. Alison and I get to spend time with daddy and we usually go out together as a family. On top of that, I get to talk to my wonderful husband, instead of watching daytime soaps. This morning, daddy was up early to help with the house chores. He finished the laundry, lube the locks and garage doors, clean up the yard, vaccum the house and fix the couch. Yay, daddy, you are the bestest!!
This afternoon, we went to visit our friends, Anita and Anthony, who just had a baby girl. Her name is Allison too! (It's a beautiful name!!) Here are a few pictures of the two girls.

My angry baby - happy one month!
While I was pregnant, I read many books about pregnancy. My husband and I were always amazed with the human body, like how the fetus would drop as it got close to the due date so that it was in an "engaged" position or when you breastfed, the body would release a chemical called oxytocin and that it would trigger the uterus to contract and repel the extra blood lining from the body. It is truly amazing. What is even more amazing is the fact that the newborn is super cute and adorable. It is, perhaps, the most essential part of human survival. I mean, let's face it, when the baby cries and cries and cries, who would want to deal with the angry baby? If she is not cute, we would just throw her down the stairs and be done with it. But because she is so precious, you just have to suck it up and deal with the crying and try to console her the best you can, hoping that she will stop crying as you pace around the room. Seriously, God knows that if he didn't make all babies adorable and huggable, humans race would soon be extinct.
On a different note, Ali has reached a big milestone today. When I woke up this morning, I found her sleeping on her right side! She was able to roll over to her side!! Oh my!! How fast she has grown!
I told you already, I don't want to take any more pictures...let me down..NOW!!!!

One-month banquet
Ali has had her one month banquet last Sunday. She would like to thank her many relatives and friends who attended her one month birthday! And all the wonderful gifts and red envelopes too!! Thank you so much!! I am sure Alison would enjoy them very much as she gets older (and the $$ will go to her education fund).
Unfortunately, Alison wasn't in the greatest mood that night. I guess the restaurant was a little too noisy and she couldn't get a decent nap. She would like her mommy to apologize to all her fans (ha!) on her behalf.
A big hug to "kai ma" who made her this cute little outfit (onesie and the beautiful red dress). Thanks a million!! This is Ali's first time wearing a dress!!

My cuties
My friend, Yetta, brought her two kids over to visit Ali. Kiki and Hayden are SO SO ADORABLE!! Although they are 18 months apart, the two of them look like twins!! Kiki is not shy at all, but Hayden does not want to be separated from his mama. We tried to take pictures of the three kids, but this is the best we could do.
Kiki and her new toy:
Hayden must be thinking, "Eww...Girls have cooties!"

Yetta must be thinking, "Mmm..having a third would be really nice!"

My super nanny
My best bud came to Vancouver to visit Ali and I on my birthday and she decided to help me baby sit the whole day AND stay over for a night to help out with the night feedings. It was one of the best days I had ever since Ali was born. I had company for the entire day (it's so nice talking to an adult, especially an experienced mom who knows all the in's and out's of handling the little ones) and night (changing all the diapers and keeping me entertained while I am breastfeeding). On top of that, my mom actually listened to her. I don't know what kind of magic spell she has cast on my mother, but that was an impressive kind of magic that she has done. Oh my! So, Yetta, when are you guys moving back to Vancouver again??
A big shout-out to Brett: Thanks so much for letting Yetta come to visit!!
A huge shout-out to Yetta's mom, aunt and uncle: Thanks SO SO MUCH for taking care of Kiki and Hayden while Yetta is at my place.
A heartfelt thanks to Yetta: You are my SUPER nanny and my hero!!

The best birthday present!
Alison arrived just in time to celebrate her mommy's birthday! What a sweetheart! Taking care of my little baby tofu has been quite challenging, especially the night time feedings, but nevertheless, it is the most rewarding experience ever. Just watching her little expressions, her odd little smiles, her heart wrenching cries and her funny movements warm my heart. My close friend once told me that she wanted to have another baby (after having two herself) and I thought she was nuts. And boy, do I know what she is talking about now. Ali is just so adorable (forgive the first time parent, totally infatuated with her little baby) that I can totally see why my friend wants to have another one (not that I am ready for another crying monster). Babies are just too cute!
To make it worse, the new mom has caught a cold (probably from her hubby ;P or most likely, from the lack of sleep). Having cold chills, sweating bullets through the night, aching from sore muscles or having a throbbing headache are not THAT bad. The worst part is to resist the temptation from that yummy face of Ali. Oh how much do I want to kiss that little plump cheek of hers!

My beautiful little girl
My baby girl, Alison, arrived on July 28th at 2:50 pm. Her soft, round chubby little cheeks just scream "please pinch me"!! Her skin, just like any other babies, is so SO soft!! In fact, it is so soft and smooth, that my husband and I decided to call her our little tofu princess. Being a parent make me realize just how blinded parents can be. In my eyes, she is the most beautiful little girl, the cutest little thing. Of course, other people might not agree, but hey, parental love is blind. She will always be my little angel (except when she cries at night, she becomes a gremlin).
