Random pics

Work has been super crazy lately.  And to top it off, we have relatives coming to visit too.  A lot of work and a lot of entertaining.  I have been too lazy to take pictures.  Here are a few random pics that we have taken in the past little days.

Ali hanging out with her mama, reading her favourite lamma and green monster books:

We found that White Spot and Red Robins are awesome family restaurants.  Ali loves going there because she gets to draw with crayons and get fed at the same time.  What's not to like?

Getting ready to devour some juicy pork dumplings at a Shanghaiese restaurant:

A:  Mommy, gimme the camera!!!!!

We went to May Fair and scored these wonderful children's books for close to nothing!!  I bought the Twilight series (gently used, but still in great condition) for less than $2!!!  Score!!

I had the following conversation with Ali one night:
A:  More, more.
M:  Here.  let's quickly finish your dinner and we will go "kai kai" (go out in Chinese), okay?
A:  *took a quick look at her mama*  All done!
M:  No, Ali, finish these first and then we go "kai kai".
A:  *quickly shove the last few bites in her mouth*  All done!

We took her to a park after dinner:

My two favourite girls

It is so insanely difficult to keep up with my blog and work and life all at the same time.  There is tons of work to do close to year end and plus I am still trying to play catch up from last time I was sick.

We had Ali's bff over one weekend and boy, we had so much fun!!  As they grow older, these playdates just get better and better.  Like Allison's mom said, "It was great when they were 6 months old.  It was really good when they were one.  And now, it is just plain awesome!!"  Can't agree with her more!!!

These two get super comfortable with each other.  They share toys well.  They love giving each other hugs and kisses too.  So sweet!!

A:  Oh Allison, I haven't seen you for such a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Al:  I..can't...breathe...

I love this picture.  The two girls are soooooo adorable together!!!

Actually, it didn't turn out that great after this picture.  Allison fell and she cried for a really long time.  We have to bribe her with Os and lots of stickers and hugs and kisses.  Poor kiddie!!!

Dinner time, we have quinoa with chicken and broccoli.  This is half of what is left.  I kept on forgetting to take a picture of the food.

After dinner we went out for a walk.  Man, is it ever so tough to walk the two at the same time!!!

Allison's mommy is SO nice to prepare a big bowl of fruit with strawberries, watermelon and cantaloupe.  So yummy!!!  Both girls (and the adults) enjoy the fruits very much!!  Thanks again Anita and Anthony!!!

P.S.  Ali is asking if Allison can come over to play soon.  She is calling "yan yan" as I blog.  :)

Hats!

A family friend of ours is learning to knit hats and being a super duper nice granny she is, she made hats for my mom, Ali and for myself.

Here are a few pictures of Ali and I being a hat model:
This cute pink hat and scarf set is for Ali.  Two of the three hats are for my mom.  I am lucky enough to get one too!

This hat is clearly way too big for her, but she is able to pull it off.    I guess it sort of match her outfit that day.

And this is my absolute favourite.  No, I bought this one.  I saw it on the cover of a parent magazine once and I just fell in love with it.  So adorable.  You can actually turn it into a purse too, but I don't want to show Ali that quite yet until maybe she is a little older.  So cute!!!  I wish they made these kind of hats for adults too. ;P

Happy Mother's Day

This is my second mother's day since we had Ali.  This year, my beloved daughter is a whole lot more interactive compared to last year, but not old enough to make me things or give me presents yet.  Darn.  I guess I have to wait for a few more years.  In daycare, they used Ali handprints to decorate a poem about children growing up.  I must say I enjoy it a lot.  It's very sweet.

On Mother's day, we went out with our in-laws to celebrate.  Ali's favourite goh-gohs are there as well.  There are a lot of smooches flying around.

Here is a picture of Ali kissing mommy:

Of course, the night is not complete without the two boys kissing Ali (or vice versa):

The funny thing is that Ali ADORES her two goh-gohs so much that she wants more kisses from them.  And them only.

I had a great time hanging out the little one, even tho it is nothing new or extraordinary, Ali really makes my day.  Oh, the joy of being a mom!!  =)  Happy Mother's day to all the moms!!!!

Hipster babe

As I mentioned before, Ali LOVES to play dress up.  And I have never taught her to do this, but she seems to love wearing sunglasses, hats, shoes, bags, fairy wings and all that jazz.  Maybe girls are born this way?!!

I asked Ali to make a sad face after she put on her sunglasses, but this turns out more like a pouty baby with attitude.  Um, I blame it on the heart-shaped sunglasses.

Here is mommy trying to look as cool as her hipster babe:

A:  Alright, let me get my purse ready...gotta put my credit cards in there!

Ali's hipster baby shopping pose.  Look at her, she got it all covered.  And no, I did not teach her to pose like that.  LOL.
