My little busy bee

Since Ali has no school in July, I have been trying hard to keep her busy.  Once a week, Ali goes to an open gym.  Although it is not a very big facility, there are quite a few stations set up - ride ons, art station, play dough station, puzzle station, kitchen area and a whole bunch of other stuff.  As usual, Ali is completely overwhelmed and don't know where to start.

A: "Mmm....should I try this one?"

A: "Or maybe I should play with this one instead."

A: "Oh wait, let me try these instead!  But, which one should I start with first...mmmmm?  What about that one over there?"

A: "Oh, the kitchen is nice.  Wait, what's over there?"

A: "Oh my, it's a 4 by 4!  Let me fill it up!  Mama said I need to put gas in first!"

Kai siblings

Ali's kai siblings are finally in town!  She is super excited to see them!  Ali just adores her kai geh, Kiki and kai goh, Hayhay.  Whereever they go, she follows them around like a little puppy!

The three of them having a good time playing with stickers and stamps.

After dinner, the three troublemakers want to play with the kitty cat.

And the three started to jump on the bed and turned into three silly monsters!

Bath time!  Look at these three cute little ones!!!!  It's so precious to see the three growing up together!  =)  More playdates please!

Another hot sunny day!

We must have had no more than 20 summer like days from May to now.  Sad, really.  The only saving grace is that we usually have all the sunny days on the weekends.  One of Ali's favourite things to do is going to a park.

When Ali is running to the park, hubby commented how similar we (Ali and I) are...in terms of running.  Great.  So I run like a 2-year old.  Fantastic!

When we got there, we saw that it is also a water park.
Dada: "O....kay...."
A:  "Ummm...."

A:  "Dada, I am not too sure of this."

We quickly brought her over to the other side when the water stopped.  Ali is not too fond of the see-saw.

She is way more comfortable with the s...tairs.

After some persuasion, Ali finally stepped into the tunnel.

Hubby crawling in after Ali, but burned his two hands.  The plastic tunnel was SUPER hot!!

Ali hanging out with two other girls who were hiding from the sun.

Ali had a great time.  Poor mommy and daddy almost suffered from sunstroke.  Seriously hot!  Both of us had to take turn walking through the water to cool off a bit.  Being a scary cat, Ali refused to go near the water.  I give her another year.  I am sure next year, she will beg us to take her to a water park!!!

Ali's pool

We took our little one on a short road trip this weekend.  So much fun!!  More pictures to follow.  I am so behind in my blogging!!!

There were a days in June that actually reminded me that we are in the summer season.  On one sunny afternoon, we invited Ali's bff to come over and splash some water around.

Hi Allison!!!

Ali was a little skeptical at first, but eventually warmed up to the idea of playing in the pool.  We brought out a few bath toys for the two to play with.

The two girls had so much fun!  Both prefer to stand in the water or sit on the edge.  This is one of the rare moments that Ali wanted to sit IN the water!

A friendly hug!!!!

After playing for about an hour, the two girls had a hard time leaving the pool.  They seemed to really really like the water.  To entice them to come out and not fuss (really, just my girl is whiny and fussy.  Allison is really well behaved), we offered them to take a short ride around the neighbourhood.

A:  Thanks for coming out to play with me, yan yan!!!  I love hanging out with you!! =)

Uncle and Aunt 3

Wow, I don't know how I am behind my blogging considering I am on my summer break.  My uncle (one of my dad's third younger brother) and his wife came to Vancouver to visit a month ago (and I didn't blog about this until a month later!!!  ha!)  I haven't seen them for such a long time and not until this visit, did I notice that my dad and his brother look so much alike!!

Uncle 3 is practically the younger version of my dad!  They seem to have so much to talk about.  Too bad I don't understand Shanghaiese.  They could be talking behind my back for all I know!!!  hahahha...

We took them to a few landmark places, like Stanley Park.  Ali seemed pretty interested in the totem poles.

At the prospect point.

Beautiful lilies in bloom.

We also took them to English Bay.  Ali got totally freaked out by the sculptures!  She was clinging on to me real tight and won't walk by herself!

Thank you for visiting us, Uncle and Aunt 3!!  Hope to see you again soon!

Aunt Andria's wedding

Aunt Andria asked Ali to be her flower girl.  It is Ali's first time being one and she just loved the whole experience.  We told her she is a little princess and that Aunt Andria is an empress....hahaha....

A:  Mmm...what exactly do I have to do as a flower girl?  Do I just have to dress up and look pretty...like a flower?

Family picture with grandma.

A:  Wow, they must really like me.  They even hire a quartet to play for me.

Ali walking down the isle with mommy.  (Too bad daddy was working hard to motivate Ali to move along.  This is the only picture we have Ali walking down the isle!!)

Sitting patiently with mommy (thank goodness I brought stickers with me!)

The beautiful newlyweds - Emperor Edmond and Empress Andria!!!

The gang - look how handsome the two boys are!!  And my little girl too, she is an adorable little princess!!!

So tired after the ceremony.  Ali fell asleep in the car pretty much right away.

Ali getting ready after her nap.  Gotta do a quick round of shopping first, right!?

A:  I am a Cinderella....mommy makes me clean the floor.  I guess I will just use whatever they put in a garbage can.

A:  Aunt Andria had someone set up a photo booth.   So cool!!!  I had so much fun taking pictures with my goh gohs!!
Congrats, Andria and Edmond!!!  We had so much fun at your wedding!!!  And thank you for getting such a lovely dress for Ali too!!  She loves being your flower girl!!  Thanks again for sharing your special day with us!!  :D

High School Reunion

One of my high school friends happened to be in Vancouver for a business trip.  Her little one is about the same age as Ali so we thought it would be fun to do a playdate while she is in town.

Here is our group picture:

Her adorable son, Aston.  I am so jealous of his big round eyes!!!

A picture of the mommies and the babies:

Aston: Hi Aunt Ida, you want a balloon too?

Ali:  Here is a pair of mittens for Aston.  You think he will like them?

Thanks for coming by and visit, Wendy!!!  Hopefully, we don't have to wait another 15 years before we meet up again!!  I will send you the pics soon!
