Carousel

On the weekend, we went to the Burnaby Village Museum to check out their carousel. It is one of those things that we wanted to go visit when we have a kid. When we got there, it happened to be the operators' lunch break, so we took a few pictures with the horses and Ali seemed to be quite interested in the lights and the carousel. We were so psyched and ready to take baby on for a ride.
A family portrait:
Mommy and Ali posed in front of the music box:
Before the carousel starts, we quickly took a few pictures with the little one. These little ponies are perfect for babies. They are stationary, unlike the "real" ones that go up and down.
It was pretty fun playing on the carousel until it started moving. My memories of going on the carousel rides are slow and not very exciting. But so it turned out, it moved rather quickly. It fact, after a minute or so, both hubby and I felt rather dizzy and nauseous. Half way through the ride, hubby and I decided we would have to give away our second ticket and really wish that the ride would stop. Our baby seemed to be indifferent throughout the ride. After it seemed like forever, the ride finally stopped. As we staggered away from the platform, we saw a 4 year old girl excitedly begging her grandmother to let her have another go away. Man, we are so weak!
Here is a picture of Ali and her mommy. Notice my face is turning white, trying to look composed, but failed miserably.

AKA

Since Sammy is now back to Daddy's daycare, we have recruited a new member to our little play group! Introducing the AKA - Avery, Kaley and Ali!
K: I told you guys already, no pictures. You paparazzi stay away from the babies, okay?
A: Huh? What? What's going on??
Ali pretends to crawl, while Kaley actually crawls...backwards. But hey, that's a good start. At least she is going somewhere.
While the older two are busy playing, Avery just chills in her Bumbo chair. Look how relaxed and comfy she is!
Meanwhile Kaley tries to break open the cupboard doors. "This is where Mommy keeps all her yummy treats!!!"
Since Ali can't really crawl around, I put her in Kaley's rocker. She seems to really enjoy herself, don't you agree?

We have had a terrific time hanging out with the cutie babes and the wonderful parents. Thank you so much for hosting, Mish! And thanks Fay and Dom for bringing the super yummy turnovers!!! Delicious! We will host next time for sure!!

Andy's first Father's Day!

Once you became parents yourself, you learn to appreciate the true meaning of Mother's Day and Father's Day. Man, you put in so much effort and time in your little one, it would be nice to get some kind of appreciation, right? This year, Ali gave her beloved dada a new video card (apparently a really good one, mommy has no idea) and a super delicious cake for him too! Why a video card you ask? So that he can play his favourite computer game (starcraft 2) in high quality with his buddies. Good thinking, Ali!
A closer look of that beautiful cake (Raspberry Financier with Vanilla Bavarian), so yummy!!

Andy's favourite cousins, Andrew and Caleb, asked their parents to buy their beloved bew goh two packs of BBQ chicken wings and chips for Father's Day! YUMMM!!!! The little ones are TOO SWEET!!

Hope you have had a great Father's Day, my wonderful hubby! Thanks for always being there for us!! ~Love Ali and Mommy.

Music class at Bonsor

Ali attended her last music class at Bonsor on Wednesday. This is really sad for both Ali and I. She really, really enjoyed going to these classes and play with the toys and watch other babies. We will have to wait another month before we can go to this fun music class again!! Oh bummer!
Here is a picture of Ali playing with the twirley. She loves playing with the ribbons.
Babies got crazy when the instructor brought out a whole bunch of music toys.
"Mama, how to play with this one??"
Ali has not been sleeping well the last two days. I think she might be teething. She cried quite a bit and wouldn't fall asleep unless her mama or dada was holding her. Look at her eyes. So tired, so droopy and yet she was struggling hard to keep her eyes open so can keep on playing.

Ali's first swim

We always wanted to take Ali to the swimming pool ever since she was six months old. Unfortunately, because of her eczema, we weren't able to do this until the last weekend. Ali was really really scared of the water and was whining the whole time she was there. Dada was taking lots of pictures from the side so he was not able to swim with us this time.

The "before" shot. Ali has no idea where her parents were taking her.

Ali in a life jacket. We couldn't stop laughing. Her jacket was a little tight and kept on pushing her cheeks up. She looked SO adorable in it! hahahahha...
Ali was pouting the whole time she was on the floating mat. She was very unhappy, but her mom was having so much fun!
"I don't like this! Get me outta here, dada!!"
"Mama, why are so happy when you see me suffer??? You are so mean!!"

The "after" family shot!
Sadly, little Ali got sick after our little swimming adventure. She vomited after dinner and a fever broke out as well. We tried to give her tylenol, but she gagged and vomited some more. This repeated three more times. (Man, I have been doing laundry non-stop!) Ali wasn't able to sleep much last night (nor could mommy), but she is doing a little better now. Her fever is still there, but the doc prescribed some tylenol suppository (poor babe!). Hopefully, she will get better real soon!

And the culprit is...

Me. Ali's mama. I am the one who makes her sick. Damn, I am glad the grandparents don't read my blog. If they read this, they will probably go nuts and I will get an earful for sure!

These pictures are taken two days before her symptoms started to show.

You gotta admit, they are pretty darn cute. Okay, maybe I should use a portable heater next time.

"Mama, don't do that next time. I can't stop sneezing and that's not fun!!! Boo hoo, mama!!"

Allergy or Cold?

Hubby and I planned to take our little one to the pool on the weekend, but it turned out that Ali did not feel well. Poor baby. She sneezed every two seconds and her nose seemed to be leaking all day long. Her eyes were a little droopy and there were always tears by her eyes.

Because of the nasal congestion, Ali was not able to sleep well (neither can mommy) and she seemed only want mama to hold her all night long. She seemed to be a little better now, but the cough starts to kick in. I do hope she will recover real soon!

"God, can you make that runny nose stop??"

"Dada, go away! I am not in the mood to play with you today!"

Ali and por por

It has been a long while since I posted my entry, that is because...THE ANTS WERE STILL IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We could still hear the munching sounds, so we had to call the exterminators back again, which also mean that, we had to move out of our house AGAIN! The last week has been a little chaotic and things are finally started to settle down a bit.
Ali's por por (my mom) is back from Hong Kong. The last time she was in YVR, Ali was only 3 months old. Needless to say that Ali did not recognize her por por at all. Poor grandma, her heart was broken when Ali started crying when she tried to pick her up. After a few days, Ali finally started to warm up to her and they had a blast hanging out with each other.

Look how happy those two are!

I love you por por!! Love from Ali.
