Carousel

On the weekend, we went to the Burnaby Village Museum to check out their carousel. It is one of those things that we wanted to go visit when we have a kid. When we got there, it happened to be the operators' lunch break, so we took a few pictures with the horses and Ali seemed to be quite interested in the lights and the carousel. We were so psyched and ready to take baby on for a ride.
A family portrait:
Mommy and Ali posed in front of the music box:
Before the carousel starts, we quickly took a few pictures with the little one. These little ponies are perfect for babies. They are stationary, unlike the "real" ones that go up and down.
It was pretty fun playing on the carousel until it started moving. My memories of going on the carousel rides are slow and not very exciting. But so it turned out, it moved rather quickly. It fact, after a minute or so, both hubby and I felt rather dizzy and nauseous. Half way through the ride, hubby and I decided we would have to give away our second ticket and really wish that the ride would stop. Our baby seemed to be indifferent throughout the ride. After it seemed like forever, the ride finally stopped. As we staggered away from the platform, we saw a 4 year old girl excitedly begging her grandmother to let her have another go away. Man, we are so weak!
Here is a picture of Ali and her mommy. Notice my face is turning white, trying to look composed, but failed miserably.

  1. Now you understand why I refuse to go with my kids. The merry-go-around is a Daddy only activity. Mommy gets too dizzy.
